Exceptional experience!
The resort itself is stunning and flawlessly designed with luxury in mind. Breathtaking views seen from every location rather your on your private balcony, lounging at the pool or enjoying a meal at the dinning table. The staff is lovely and accommodating. This was most certainly a very memorable experience and we look forward to visiting again!
Luxury in the Jungle
Lamangata is the definition of a luxury jungle getaway! I was very impressed with the design of the property, the resort itself is situated on a pure piece of mountain paradise with ocean views from every vantage point. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious and the sunsets every evening by the pool are nothing short of magic. Besides the natural beauty of the property, the on site amenities (private chef, gorgeous massage room, wrap around porch with fire pit, bocce ball court, stunning swimming pool) are fantastic...
Five star experience in every regard
Our stay at Lamangata was extraordinary. The resort is stunning - gorgeous architecture, spacious and thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated. It is as nice as any five star resort I’ve ever visited. The staff is wonderful - Ronald saw to our every need as we enjoyed the local beaches, waterfalls, zip lines and of course the awesome surf (thank you Junior!!)...

Magnificent family vacation that everyone will cherish forever
If you want to feel , just once in your life , how the rich and famous enjoy luxury , you must put Lamangata on your bucket list. The resort is much more than a resort. It feels like your home and the staff transform you into a family member with all the comforts of a luxurious mansion with an incredible view. The food and attention to detail are exquisite and the worst part of the experience was having to leave.
Superlatives don't do this place justice, a magical experience.
I recently visited Lamangata as part of a school trip with nine 14 year male and female students from Switzerland. After soending a week in the Costa Rican jungle, the welcome we recieved couldn't have been friendlier, nothing was too much trouble and everything has been prepared immaculatly for our arrival...
An Oasis.
The entire experience at Lamangata Luxury Surf Resort was one of the best I have ever had. My family traveled Costa Rica with our last stop at Lamangata. I loved other areas of the Country however, this hotel was peaceful, relaxing and the food was outstanding. The pictures are exactly what the resort has to offer. Yes, it’s that beautiful. The two lovely sisters who do housekeeping, Carlos, the gardener, Ronald, the Manager and the chefs were kind, welcoming and made our stay extra special. I would stay at Lamangata again and again. Absolutely Beautiful.
Perfect vacation
We had a great time at Lamangata! The hotel grounds are well taken care with beautiful surrounding nature and upscale modern construction. It is a small hotel with a feel more of a luxury private villa! The service is top notch. The chefs are talented with delicious and very healthy food. They accommodate your preferences and we even got some bonus cooking lessons! The surfing is amazing! ...

A beautiful resort hidden on a winding dirt road atop a hill set among the trees and wildlife with an exceptional view of the Pacific Ocean below. This resort recently opened to the public in January 2024. Upon arrival we were immediately relaxed and at peace, secure in the knowledge that we’d booked a great spot to enjoy Costa Rica...

I have never written a review but Lamangata is kind of astounding. I spent two weeks there (one solo and one with my family) and could have easily stayed four more. I The setting is literally breathtaking -- the pictures really don't do it justice. Please don't judge me when I say that the only equivalent views I have seen are Apple screensavers. And then the resort itself is stunning...
Luxury, convenience and privacy tucked away in the Costa Rican jungle
My wife and I had an amazing time and Lamangata. Such a gorgeous property. Conveniently located close to Dominical and Nauyaca Falls, but so secluded you feel like you are alone on the mountain. The room was so cozy yet spacious. My wife took surf lessons with the hotel´s surfing instructor Junior and she loved it. Food was amazing (kudos to Henry the chef). I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to spend some time in the Central Pacific area.
Lamangata sets the standard
Every aspect of our weeklong stay at Lamangata was perfect. The hotel itself is quite stunning in every respect, from its location on a hilltop perch with sweeping ocean views, to the thoughtfully designed rooms and lobby, all integrated in a rich and colorful landscape. But beyond the resort, we can't say enough good things about Junior, our excellent and patient surf coach. Junior met us where we were in terms of skill and taught us an incredible amount...
Perfect Costa Rican getaway
This is a fantastic hotel/resort. The staff are very warm and friendly, and we got to know all of them well. Ronald is the general manager, along with the two chefs Coco and Tony, and Junior. The rooms were huge and had marvellous views out over the Pacific and the sunsets were amazing. The pool was staggering with an infinity pool looking out over the ocean, and the gardens were well tended and full of flowers...

Incredible views from all of the rooms and a beautiful property! Full attention to detail in design, experience, concierge services, and accommodations. Could have stayed forever! The team at Lamangata is just amazing. They truly care about providing a wonderful experience and will make sure your stay is perfect. The surf coaching was fantastic as well...
Exceptional Place!
My wife and I stayed with Lamangata for 8 days and it was AWESOME! It is a beautiful place and the service was exceptional from everyone (management, surf guides, cooks, maids, security, etc.). It is a quick 10-12 minute drive to the beach for surfing and also very close to several very cool hikes and waterfalls. The food was incredible and the views are some of the best in town for sunsets and bird watching. We would highly recommend Lamangata and we will be back again sometime soon!

My husband and I had an incredible stay here this past week. Ronald took great care of us and made sure all of our needs were met. Hats off to the chefs, the food was superb. Our rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. We had an amazing view from every angle. I can’t thank the entire staff enough for such a wonderful stay. If you are on the fence about this being just for surfers, I can assure you that’s not the case. My husband surfs but I do not and I still had a wonderful stay here. Plenty to do (or you can simply relax by the pool) around the area. Highly, highly recommend.

I traveled solo to the Dominical/Uvita area the previous week to participate in a 4 day spiritual retreat at a villa in the area and wanted a few days before returning home to integrate and process the experience. Best surf trip ever
Imagine a 7 star hotel, but private just for your own squad. I brought 12 people (6 rooms total) but if you're 6-8 u might have it to urself. The owners are amazing and the view is unbeatable. We were driven to the beach every day and they rolled out the lunch. The surf coaches were the best though. Everyone on my team got up - I was impressed! I think it's crazy affordable rn because they just opened.

My husband and I had a fabulous time at Lamangata. It was a perfect balance of luxury and nature. Chilling and reading by the pool was also a highlight - the views don’t get any better! The staff were outstanding and saw to all of our needs, even anticipated wants and needs we didn’t know we had like fresh snacks and drinks in between meals. We’ve already booked our next trip!

From the minute we landed we did not have to think again. Everything was taken care of from luggage, food, and fun. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing experience and to learn how to surf! The chef cooked amazing meals and the beach side lunch in between surfing was outstanding. The pool area sunset view is one of the best I have ever seen. Book this trip now!!
A true luxury surf experience for beginners to (actual) pros
Best luxury non-kook surf experience in CR. I'm a lifelong surfer and started traveling to CR over 25 years ago. The place has transformed enormously and many places don't offer the pristine experienced it once did. (i.e. Santa Teresa..etc. Lamangata is just lux enough to take the hassle out of your surf trip experience, but not too lux where you feel like you're in the White Lotus...

Outstanding in every way possible! From pickup to drop off white glove treatment, surfing coaches five star chefs daily massage and yoga therapist the list goes on and on. The resort itself situated for sunsets over looking the jungle to the sea from every spot wether gathering or your personal suite.

The views are breath taking from really anywhere on the resort. Room was goregously designed with a modern surf vibe. The team went above and beyond to make our stay so expectional and genuinely made us feel like family. I will be back again next year and every year after that.

Lamangata exceeded all expectations. From the moment they picked me up at the airport, I knew I was in good hands. Excellent experience
Very delicious food and personalized depending on tastes, very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere and even better would be the people who welcome you, all very friendly and attentive at all times. There is a very nice view and entertaining surf lessons on the nearby beach.
Comfortable, nice and calm
A new hotel, comfortable, with friendly and hospitable staff, not very large (only 10 or 12 rooms), clean and tidy everywhere. There is a nice and large enough pool for swimming. Spacious rooms with a terrace overlooking the ocean and mountains - very beautiful! In general, if you want to relax or surf on the ocean, this is the place for you!
Paradise on Earth
Lamangata is not a hotel, it’s an experience!! The incredible one! Clean, luxurious, eco-friendly, private, this VIP villa had farm to table food, best service, gorgeous jungle view, beautiful butterflies around, homemade kombucha;)) amazing beach and surfing lessons with caring skillful instructors. I felt home. I felt like I’m in paradise. I’d love to go there again!!
